Introduction
Beginning in the early 1980s, CSSP developed software for cost control in construction using proprietary multi-user database management systems. These environments were initially found to be ideal for the applications but over time they were superseded by the now industry standard Microsoft SQL database.
Consequently, CSSP has rewritten our key applications using the latest Microsoft tools so that users can benefit from the latest improvements in ease of use and integration with other Windows software.
We have almost completed the process of migrating users from our legacy software to the new Eclipse system. The migration is effectively an upgrade for users as the new software provides equivalent functionality and their old data can be converted to the new format.
RIPAC
RIPAC is a totally integrated system for the construction industry, providing estimating, cost planning, bill preparation and contract administration, using one database from feasibility to final account.
Having been developed over thirty years, RIPAC was established as the leading system for bill preparation and contract administration, with users among major client bodies, local authorities, consulting engineers and quantity surveying practices.
ICEPAC
ICEPAC was a joint marketing venture with Thomas Telford Ltd, the commercial arm of the Institution of Civil Engineers to produce a software package to computerise initially the Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (CESMM) and later the Method of Measurement for Highway Works.
ICEPAC performed equivalent functions to RIPAC and is now also superseded by Eclipse with a similar upgrade path.
EES
EES was initially developed to meet a specification produced by one of the largest water companies in the UK to develop an Estimating and Cost Modelling tool.
It was adopted by various other organisations in the Water and Electricity industries, with every user contributing valuable functionality.
