System Requirements
These system requirements are for CSSP software products only excluding Cheops (Click here for Cheops system requirements).
Other products running simultaneously may require additional resources.
Workstation
Computer/Processor
A Pentium 1Ghz or higher is recommended to run CSSP software, but a higher specification is recommended for optimum performance.
Operating System
Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 are recommended.
The following versions are supported:
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows Vista Business
- Windows Vista Ultimate
- Windows Vista Enterprise
- Windows 7 Professional
- Windows 7 Ultimate
Memory
The RAM requirements depend on the users operating system.
Minimum of 1Gb of RAM, or higher is recommended.
Hard Disk
Workstations attached to a server running CSSP software require only 1Mb of storage space for temporary files.
The online help can also be installed on the workstation, and takes 10Mb.
Server
Computer/Processor
A Pentium 2Ghz or higher is recommended to run CSSP software, but a higher specification is recommended for optimum performance.
Operating System
Windows 2003, 2008 or 2008R2 are recommended.
The latest service packs should be installed.
Memory
The RAM requirements depend on the users operating system.
Minimum of 4Gb of RAM is recommended, but 8Gb or higher is recommended for optimum performance.
Hard Disk
The hard disk storage space required for CSSP software depends on the products installed, and also which libraries have been purchased and how much project data is to be stored.
CSSP software requires about 100Mb for installation as a minimum, but at least 200Mb of free space is recommended for Windows to operate efficiently.
This assumes that the software is installed on a server or on a single workstation.
Other Requirements
Installation
CD ROM drive is required for installation and upgrades, on a server or single workstation, but a CD ROM drive is not required on workstations connected to a server running CSSP software.
Peripherals
A minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 is required.
HP LaserJet or compatible printer is required.
A Keyboard and a Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device are required.
Web access or Email is not required, although access is recommended for support and updates.
A serial or Wintab compliant digitiser graphics tablet is required for optional digitiser calculation functions.
Citrix/Terminal Server
Installations on Citrix or Terminal Server require additional memory and hard disk to support multiple users.
Server memory requirements for CSSP Applications running via Citrix are 5GB base memory plus an additional 512Mb per user.
Network
Supported networks include Windows 2008, Windows 2003 and Novell.
The Universal Driver for Windows or Novell networks is required for users with 4 or more workstations.
The Universal Driver is only applicable where the workstations are Windows 2000, NT, XP, Vista or Windows 7.
This will not run on workstations that are Windows 98, ME, or 95.
Novell Client workstations must be version 4.83 or earlier.
Version 4.9 is not supported at this stage.
